The Bucher profiling machine is suitable for all types
of oboes
It produces a perfect scrape; all parts of the reed can be scraped individually, so that hand corrections are not necessary. This in a quality hardly attainable by hand-scraping and certainly not in such a short time.

After a simple change of the template, reeds for oboe, oboe d’amore, cor anglais, baritone oboe, baroque and classical oboe can be treated.

Personal templates are available, including original and four correction-segments.

Possibilities of the scrape

Adjustment of the scraping thickness in hundredths of millimetres.
With the left control knob, the surface of the template is copied, respectively scraped more or
less deep into the cane.
Adjustment of the absolute minimum thickness of the scrape.
The right control knob limits the lowering of the sledge.
This allows making scraping corrections, avoiding a tip which is too thin, when the reed is
scraped thinner and avoiding scraping the tongue, when the left knob is put too much towards minus.
Additional scraping on four sections of the reed exactly defined
by the aid of the correction segments of the template.
Adjustment of the scraping way with the small control knob.

Knife change can be made in a few seconds - no gauging needed.
The knive can be turned and thus be used for scraping 500 reeds.
