Does every oboist find his personal ideal among the standard templates?

The answer for the professional oboist is no.
You reach the optimal profit of the machine working with your personal template.

Advantages of the standard templates

The standard templates show a very regular and well balanced form, they are ideals of a certain reed-type (see standard templates).
Standard templates are ideal for oboists who did not find yet their personal scrape and do not command their personal template.
Buying the machine or later, you can test standard templates during 4 weeks for free (max. 3 templates). There are only the forwarding costs.

In spite of the correction segments, important parameters of the scrape can not be changed:

the increase of thickness, in the center as well as on the sides.
the very personal geometry of the slope from the center to the sides, the cross-section of the reed, which can be straight, convex or concave.
This cross-section has proved to be one of the most important feature for the vibration-flexibility and tone-quality.

Is it possible to judge the quality of the machine if the oboist sends tied reeds and lets them scrape with standard templates?

The answer for the professional oboist is no.

Exception: The oboist is present and tests the reeds, which allows to correct and adapt the scraping to the personal demand and the quality of cane.

Was ist der Grund für den Preisunterschied im Vergleich zu andern Aussenhobelmaschinen?

Die Bucher Aussenhobelmaschine kann mit ihren Optionen, ihrer Präzision und ihrer Vielseitigkeit nicht mit andern verglichen werden - sie ermöglicht eine Schabung, wie sie mit den bisherigen Maschinen nicht zu erreichen ist.

Ziel für Markus Bucher, selbst Oboist, war es, eine Maschine zu entwickeln, bei welcher kein Nachschaben von Hand mehr nötig ist. Er hat zudem die einfachste und sicherste Bedienung der Maschine sowie deren Verwendung für alle Oboenarten angestrebt. Dies erfordert genaue Einstell- und Korrekturmöglichkeiten im Bereich von Hundertstelmillimetern, was nur durch Perfektion in der Herstellung der Einzelteile, einwandfreie Qualität der verwendeten Materialien und durch Dimensionen, die das Schaben verschiedener Rohrgrössen zulassen, erreicht werden kann.

sobald Oboenzubehör Bucher GmbH vom Kunden die Ausfuhrbestätigung erhalten hat (den offiziellen, vom Zoll gestempelten Formularteil), entfällt die Schweizer MWST (neue Rechnung oder Rückzahlung der bereits bezahlten MWST).
